Our 5 Learning Pillars

  • Support

Community and Compassion - Here, education extends beyond the classroom. We support compassionate leaders committed to positive societal change.

  • Transformation

Nurturing Individual Talents: our Montessori approach respects individuality, sparking a lifelong love for learning.

  • Freedom

In our supportive and non-judgmental spaces, students are free to explore their passions and interests.

  • Peace

Alongside academics, we guide students towards inner peace and global harmony, empowering them to build harmonious relationships. Peace with self, peace with other and peace with the environment. Students understand the importance of respect, kindness and tolerance

  • Community

To go fast, I go alone. To go far - we go together.

Students learn about themselves as a member of a family, within a social, and international community. They learn to stand up for social justice by understanding rights and responsibilities.

Growing awareness

  • Dependence

In the beginning we are dependent on others to support us. We learn to trust others as we gain skills. We rely on others to meet our basic needs, and become effective at recognising our needs and asking for help.

  • Independent

After some time we learn to manage our own needs, we can look after ourselves. Our skill set grows so we can operate as a functional member of our community.

  • Interdependent

We are able to look after our own needs, and help those around us. We contribute postively to meet the needs of others, as our own needs have been met. This forms the basis of community.

  • Social Justice

We become aware of the needs of others who we don’t see or we don’t know. We learn to serve our community through assisting others. Recognising that working together creates a meaningful cohesion. We focus on Global Citizenship Education

  • Eco-Justice

We have the skills, abilities and aptitdue to reach out as kaitiaki and guardians of our planet; caring for plants, animals, water systems, carbon cycles, facing challenges of bio-diversity loss, climate change, envrionemtnal degradation

Cultivating Harmonious Changemakers

Nurturing the Individual

At Auckland Montessori College, we believe that education is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Our Montessori philosophy advocates for the nurturing of individual talents and passions. We provide a unique Montessori education that respects the pace and interests of each student, fostering a lifelong love for learning.

A Journey to Inner and Global Peace

True to our name, peace is at the heart of our philosophy. At Auckland Montessori College, we guide our students to be at peace with themselves, with others, and with the world. Through mindfulness practices and conflict resolution skills, we empower students to create harmonious relationships and environments.

The Role of Community

In alignment with Montessori principles, Auckland Montessori College places immense value on community involvement and social responsibility. Our students don't just learn to become scholars but also compassionate leaders who can bring about a positive change in society.

Revolutionary Learning Approach

Our pioneering pedagogy is founded on five pillars that guide our approach: Support, Transformation, Peace, Freedom, and Community. These aren't mere buzzwords; they are the DNA of our Montessori College, shaping the holistic education we provide to nurture well-rounded individuals.

Groundbreaking Freedom in Learning

We give students the freedom to explore their academic and personal interests. Our classrooms are safe spaces where students feel encouraged to express themselves, ask questions, and pursue their passions without judgement.
