What we want to work towards
Kia ora, haere mai
AMC is a special place where people get to be themselves, while working out how they want to be, live and learn in this world. Students and staff grow together through activities, challenges and conversations in a mutually supportive way. We challenge norms of education by providing a high trust model, a model where making mistakes is encouraged, and the curriculum is the process of finding out about self, not the end result of education. We see a world where people are agentic, caring, and sharing. Where they are aware of the world that they live in, and also aware of their valued part in it. We know that each person is accepted, they belong and are surrounded by their community. We welcome you to our vision.

What makes us different
Education for peace - Highly qualified and skilled staff -Specialist one on one teaching - Dedicated pastoral support and mentorship - Self-directed learning - Social and emotional development - Flexible timetable - One on one support for NCEA choices - United Nations School & Sustainable Development Goals
Student life
Our curriculum is tailored to be as unique as each student, empowering them to create their own learning paths. We emphasise deep understanding and critical thinking, often extending beyond traditional educational boundaries. A key feature of our curriculum is the focus on a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) every two weeks, which enriches students knowledge, encourages them to explore and challenge societal norms, while also nurturing global citizenship and a sense of responsibility toward making a positive impact on the world.
Camp
Our school camps are a crucial part of our curriculum where students gain a deeper understanding of themselves and others whilst being immersed in nature. Students learn life skills through managing food, time, sleep and relationships.
